The woman who set a benchmark for all romance authors of
the world....Jane Austen.
I admire her mainly for giving us Mr. Darcy, the man every
woman wants as her lover/ husband. I have not loved any other literary character
as much as I have loved Mr. Darcy.
Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy |
The bloodiest battles waged to find the ideal spouse told in the
most endearing manner, forms the background of all her novels. Her unrequited love for Tom Lefroy, her one true love, is poured onto the characters she created. She threw herself into
creating love stories with happy conclusions that unfortunately she did not get
in her life.
Her novels were initially published anonymously . Later on she won many admirers including the Prince Regent himself who wanted her to dedicate her next novel to him. She dedicated Emma to him halfheartedly.
Her most celebrated novel Pride and Prejudice,
was repeatedly rejected by publishers, which prove that publishers have not
changed much over time.

This post is a part of Blogging from A-Z April Challenge.
The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge was first held in 2010. The challenge is that we have to post every day of April, except on the four Sundays. April 1st is a theme with letter A, 2nd with letter B and so on till April 30th which will be Z themed. My theme is #Learning Everyday, I post about new random things every day.
She has always been and will always be one of my favourite Authors.. its amazing to think of how much she could achieve in times when she couldn't be sent to school and acquired most of her education by reading books.. its absolutely amazing..
