My model landscape... It has been divided into four grids so that placing the different elements on canvas would be easy |
First stage |
After drawing the outlines with pencil, I gave the outlines a burnt sienna lining to bring out the picture clearly.
The first coat of the sky has been done.
In the first coat all the basic colours have been put down.
The details were done with finer tipped brushes. Mostly zero and also fan brushes in some areas.
That is the journey of this Oil painting..:)

ReplyDeleteThank you...
DeleteThis is amazing. I know next to nothing about oil painting (in fact about painting itself), and it is good to see how you've done it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeena..

ReplyDeleteThank you Pallavi..Yeah I got your Giant Hug :)... All the best for the contest..
DeleteAwesome painting and the step-by-step details! How many days it took to complete this art?
ReplyDeleteAlmost a month... As you no the layers in an oil painting take time to dry...So detailing works took a lot of time..especially the trees and the grass.
DeleteBeautiful piece of work!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sreesha..
DeleteIt is so beautiful. More so when I would barely pass in art in school! Lovely. Did you frame it?
ReplyDeleteThank you Mridula... I love art... so doing it was a pleasure. I have framed it and it now hangs proudly in my living room.
DeleteI love paintings and it's great to see you explaining how to do one. Will try soon :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best for that..Thanks for the comment Uma..
DeleteWill for sure give it a try :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best....:)

ReplyDeleteThank you Bharati...
Deletenicely done :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Joshi Daniel...
DeleteSimply beautiful. I could not stop awing at the beauty you have created. BTW, how many days it takes to create one painting?
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the type of painting you are doing and the complexity of the image. If it is a simple image you can do it in a day without waiting for the layers to dry. For example a simple flower.
DeleteThe above painting took a month to complete because the trees and grass require a lot of detailing.
Thank you for the comment Saru.
Good presentation of the base to completion stage of the painting..its very beautiful..thanks for posting each step!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful artist, Preethi! I was getting confused which one to choose to comment. Thanks for sharing the details here. I love watercolour painting! Tried my hands (all those artist colour/sketch book purchase) and realized that I'm really bad. This one inspires me. Will try it again. It's serene and satisfying if turns out well.
